This Privacy Policy describes how MDental Experts collects, uses, stores, and protects the personal data of users of the mdental.md website. We are committed to complying with the personal data protection legislation of the Republic of Moldova (Law No. 133/2011) and the generally accepted principles of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

This Policy applies exclusively to the website www.mdental.md. The website has no login system or personal account — no account creation is required to use it. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites that may be linked from our website (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube).

Important note: this Policy covers only data collected through the website. Patients’ medical data, collected as part of medical care at the clinic (medical record, treatment plan, X-rays, etc.), is handled separately, in accordance with applicable legislation on medical confidentiality and health data, and is not covered by this document.

2. Definitions

• Personal data — any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (name, phone number, e-mail).
• Website user — a person who accesses and uses the mdental.md website via the Internet.
• Processing — any operation performed on personal data (collection, storage, use, transfer, deletion, etc.).
• Cookies — small text files stored in the user’s browser that allow the user to be recognized on subsequent visits.

3. What data we collect

The mdental.md website collects exclusively:

• name
• e-mail address
• phone number

This data is collected only when you voluntarily fill in the contact form / “Send request” on the website. The website does not collect any other categories of personal data — it has no payment forms, does not request medical data through the website, and does not involve creating a user account/profile.

Additionally, through Google Tag Manager (GTM) and YouTube videos embedded on the website, standard technical data may be collected automatically (e.g. IP address, browser type, pages visited) — see section 9 “Cookies” below.

4. Purposes of processing and legal basis

Data (name, e-mail, phone) submitted through the contact form is processed for:

• contacting you regarding your request (information about clinic services, booking a consultation) — legal basis: steps taken at your request, prior to a possible contract/appointment;
• further communication related to the clinic’s services, if you have given your consent — legal basis: your consent.

Technical data collected via Google Tag Manager and embedded YouTube videos is processed for the purpose of traffic analysis and correct display of content — legal basis: your consent, expressed through the cookie banner.

5. Disclosure of data to third parties

We do not sell or trade your personal data. Data collected through the contact form (name, e-mail, phone) is not shared with third parties, except where required by law.

By using the website, certain technical data may be automatically transmitted to:

• Google — via Google Tag Manager, which may activate analytics and/or advertising tags, depending on your choice in the cookie banner;
• YouTube (Google) — when you watch a video embedded on the website.

International data transfer: Google may process the technical data mentioned above on servers located outside the Republic of Moldova, including in the USA. We ensure that this provider applies appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses or equivalent certifications, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework).

6. Data retention period

• Data submitted through the contact form (name, e-mail, phone) is kept until your request has been resolved, but for no longer than 12 months, unless a contractual/treatment relationship with the clinic is subsequently established.
• Data related to your cookie consent is kept until such consent is withdrawn.

After these periods expire, the data is deleted or anonymized.

7. Your rights

As a data subject, you have the right to:

• request access to the personal data we hold about you;
• request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
• request erasure of data (“the right to be forgotten”), as provided by law;
• request restriction of processing;
• object to processing, including direct marketing communications;
• withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal;
• lodge a complaint with the National Center for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Moldova (CNPDCP), if you believe your rights have been violated.

8. Data security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, disclosure, or accidental alteration, including restricted access to data and staff training on data protection.

9. Cookies

The website uses Google Tag Manager (GTM), which may activate analytics and/or advertising modules, as well as embedded YouTube videos. On your first visit, you are asked to give consent via a banner, where you can accept all cookies, reject them, or select the desired categories:

• Strictly necessary — session, language, security. Function without consent, as they are essential for the website to work.
• Analytics / Marketing — activated via Google Tag Manager, for visit statistics and, where applicable, ad performance measurement.
• Functional — required to display embedded YouTube videos on the website.

We reserve the right to periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect legislative changes or changes to how the website operates. The updated version will always be published on this page, with the date of the last update indicated.
